JB's 2nd Birthday

I have to back track a little to get in these pictures from JB's 2nd birthday! We had a nice dinner at Honey and Teague's house on JB's actual birthday, then celebrated with some friends at the park a couple days later. We enjoyed having Uncle Boog here for JB's birthday, even though it meant some extra (unexpected!) time away from his own family for work.

Jackson, WY

We ventured to Jackson, WY from June 16-20th. Joe had his regional meeting for work there this summer, and we couldn't miss the opportunity to visit such a beautiful spot! Luckily, Honey and Teague were able to join us to provide some extra hands and attention to make the trip enjoyable with a newborn! Both JB and Elise were excellent travelers. There are lots of pictures, but I have trouble cutting out too many -- I could look at the view of the Tetons for hours on end! We stayed at Jackson Lake Lodge, right in Teton National Park, which has the most amazing views. We also drove up to Yellowstone and visited Old Faithful and Yellowstone Falls. JB loved looking for moose, elk, and bears, and we were successful in our animal viewing, but he also wanted to look for tigers and giraffes :) Enjoy the pictures, and stay tuned from shots of JB's 2nd Birthday!!

Welcome Elise Beatrice

On June 4th, we welcomed Elise Beatrice to our family! While she was somewhat stubborn to arrive, we are all happy and healthy, and she is a wonderful baby! Elise arrived at 12:40 pm, weighing 7 lb 15 oz, and measuring 19.25 inches long.

Spring is here!...or so I thought!

I thought I'd get a post in here with recent pictures and videos of JB before "Bobbie Sue" starts to steal the show!

We have finally had some spring weather around here, and we are enjoying some time outsite. (OK - I wrote that last night after a really nice weekend, and this morning we woke up to SNOW - UGHHH!) All three of us have battled some nasty colds/ear infections/sinus infections/pink eye lately, but we finally seem to be well.

JB has been helping Dad a lot -- making juice and working in the yard (complete with matching Carhart overalls!), among other things. He also loves his cars and sending each one down the little race track. We can tell he is about to turn 2, as the whining, minor meltdowns, and "why?" questioning have begun! Overall, though, he continues to be a happy, talkative, smart, energetic, and adorable little boy! He is also now sleeping in his "big boy room" and "big boy bed" (a twin mattress on the floor for now), and he has been excited to make the transition. A few times he has ended up sleeping in interesting places on the floor, but overall no issues!

We also had a nice Easter here in Park City, and JB enjoyed baskets from the Easter Bunny and from Honey and Teague!















Another April highlight was our annual trip down to Moab with friends Terry and Jenny. This year, JB and I explored a nice trail in the stroller, and found some fun playgrounds while the others enjoyed mountain biking. It won't be long before we are all on bikes together!

JB's Spring Skiing Adventure

Today we took JB out for a little spring skiing. By the looks of the weather, it doesn't seem like April, but such is life in Park City! Joe took JB on the chair lift twice, and they skied (or perhaps Joe just dragged JB!) twice down the bunny slope.

Winter 2011

We are having a great winter, including lots of special visitors and a great vacation. Here are some highlights and pictures...

January....

Sundance Film Festival -At the beginning of the festival, we had a wonderful visit from my friend Jenn and two of her friends from Seattle. We actually saw some good films, met some stars, and enjoyed the snow and sun. JB's Sundance experience involved sitting on the potty while talking on the phone AND brushing his teeth. Talk about multi-tasking!

At the end of the festival, Boog, Tracey, Marin, Bennett, and Miss Johnnie Nell visited us for a few days. We saw some not-so-good films, all had a wonderful and busy time visiting.

February...

We had a great visit from Marcy, including a ski day, and some snowshoeing. Joe and I also took a weekend away with some other EDJ couples at a cabin about an hour from here. It was a nice get-away, and JB had fun with his grandparents!

We then had some fun in the sun in Mexico! What a great resort and wonderful vacation! JB loves swimming, and he is fearless in the water (making his mom nervous at times!).

We are looking forward to a couple more long weekends with guests in March, a short weekend trip to Moab in April, and trying to get ready for "Baby Sister / Bobbie Sue"!! (including deciding upon a name, or at least narrowing down to a couple names). Can't believe we are only 11 weeks out from her due date!

Christmas and December fun!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas in Park City! I am posting a few favorite pictures. I am having trouble getting a slideshow to work, but hopefully I'll have that posted eventually, along with some videos.

Earlier in December we spent a great weekend in Denver with Holly and Theo and lots of other friends.

We visited Santa at a breakfast event with my parents about a week before Christmas. While JB wasn't so sure about sitting on Santa's lap, he eventually stayed there long enough for us to take a photo!

JB loved opening presents and playing with his new toys. We also took a great snowshoe hike up the "PC Mountain" for some fresh air and good exercise.

After Christmas we had a chance to test out JB's new skis. He really didn't move anywhere, but he liked to watch everyone ski around him. He did a little "walking" with the skis, and we also helped him glide along, but he needs some practice :)

We also did our annual snowshoe hike and sledding at Deer Valley. We snowshoe up the moutain and have dinner, and then we get to sled down afterward - what fun! Mary and JB joined us for dinner.

In other news, Joe had a "fantastic" check-up and scan at the end of December, so that completes his rounds of follow-up CT scans! Yeah! We are so thankful! He now will only need to see his doctor every 6 months rather that the every 3 months he has been doing for the past 2 years.

Yet more exciting news in our family -- we are expecting a baby GIRL at the end of May!! We had our ultrasound earlier this week, and she looks good and healthy! We are so grateful for this wonderful blessing. She is going to have a tough act to follow with JB being such a good baby, but we are sure he'll manage to teach her the ropes (in more ways than we want!) and keep her in line!
