One more month!

Spring has finally sprung in Park City, and our tulips have blossomed! Joe is keeping up with the lawn, and I am doing my best at tackling the weeds (in small bits, every once in a while).

Lately, we have been enjoying playing a lot of golf. We realize that our golfing days this summer will be limited, so we are trying to pack as much in now as we can. Luckily, Billy Bob seems to like it, and he helps his mom keep her head down and gives her a little extra "umph" in her swing! We have played "Twilight Golf" on a couple of Friday evenings -- walking 9 holes is a great way to enjoy the evening, even when it was getting down into the 40's (and Joe said his hands haven't been so cold since ice fishing in Michigan)!! I was glad to have a little internal heater that night, and I remembered my gloves! We have also played some rounds on the weekends, including today with our friend Mac. To celebrate Mother's Day, we had a nice brunch followed by golf with our parents. What a treat!

The last weekend in April, Billy Bob was spoiled once again with a baby shower here in Park City! It was fun to spend the time with so many friends who were very generous in supplying us with great clothes, books, fun toys, and essential gear!

We have been to our birthing classes and toured the hospital, and each day we are feeling more and more ready to welcome our little guy! It is hard to believe that in the next month or so, we'll get to meet him -- we are so excited! I am done traveling for work, and it sure does feel nice to be home every night (and also cuts down on my exhaustion level). I am still feeling great and keeping active with golf, swimming, walking, and even a little jogging. Joe has been reading stories to Billy Bob before bed, and he's convinced that he'll be reading by 6 months! No pressure, kid!

Last, but certainly not least, Joe had some excellent health news last week - he had a routine follow-up CT Scan and appointment with his doctor, and everything is looking great. His scan has no changes from the end of chemo, so no more signs of lymphoma. He'll visit the oncologist every 3 months, and he will have CT scans every 6 months for the next 2 years. We are grateful for a good report and expect many more to follow!

Cereal . . . the key to Life!

I know that we live in America. And I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and free to do as they please. And I know it can be very dangerous to push one's religious beliefs on others or attempt to influence one's political views. Yet, I feel compelled to take a hard stance when it comes to breakfast--cereal, in particular. I have been eating breakfast for the better part of 35 years, and recently (the past 6 months) I have ventured on a quest to discover the ultimate cereal. I am not talking about Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms, or Cocoa Puffs. I am talking about real cereals with real nutrition! For years I have been eating Honey Bunch of Oats (HBO)--a classic and a no doubt, first ballot Hall of Famer. However, all good things grow old. And such has been the fate of HBO. In recent trips to the grocery store Kelly has been forced to drag me, sometimes kicking and screaming, from the cereal aisle, after I have studied various cereal box labels for 15-20 minutes. I am here to tell you today that my search is over! I recently found the holy grail of cereals in none other than our not-so-local (Salt Lake City) Costco. Blueberry Pecan Cereal with Natural Flavor by Kirkland is hands down the best damn cereal I have ever consumed. Not only does it taste down right delicious, it has the nutrients and grains to keep your body fully nourished until lunchtime. Additionally, Blueberry Pecan can sit in milk for hours and not get soggy at all. And thus, I declare whole-heartedly and with my strongest conviction that Blueberry Pecan Cereal is my Cereal of the Year and quite possibly Cereal of the Century. Buy a box at your local Costco! Try it! You may agree with me!
