Merry Christmas and December Adventures!

Merry Christmas to all! We hope you all have enjoyed this special time with family and friends! We had a very enjoyable long weekend!

We both took the day off on Friday to ski with friends at Snowbird, which was great! On Saturday, we went for a hike behind our house. The picture shows Joe from the top of the hill with a red circle around our house! We also got a lot done around the house -- there is finally room in the guestroom for actual guests to stay, and our skis have a home in the garage!


Thankfully, my sister made it out of Denver on Saturday afternoon, so she is here in Park City, too. Joe and I went skiing on Sunday morning, and then we headed over to my parents' house for a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with some friends. We went to the Episcopal service on Christmas Eve with my parents. It is in an old chapel near main street which only holds about 40 people, so it was very nice. On Christmas morning we went to Mass at the St. Mary's Old Town Chapel, which was also a very small service. We spent a relaxing morning at my parents' house eating egg souffle, drinking eggnog and opening presents.

In the afternoon, we set off for a snowshoe hike to work off a minute portion of the calories we have eaten over the past several days! To top off our Christmas day, we had my family over to our house for dinner. Joe and I made the perfect prime rib -- thanks to the Cronley Cookbook! We got to use lots of our new kitchen items -- Joe's favorite is our electric knife!

It was a wonderful weekend and a great celebration of Christmas!









To fill you in on our other adventures this month... The first weekend in December we went out to Denver to celebrate an early Christmas with many dear family friends there. The following weekend we drove down to St. George, UT, where my godparents, the Milligans, have recently moved. It's amazing how much the landscape can change over a 5 hour drive within the same state! Although we didn't get to play golf as we had hoped, we did go on a short hike in a State Park to see the beautiful scenery!

Notre Dame - Air Force Game

On November 11, 2006, Kelly and I and my mother, Mary, joined family friend of the Brewers, Norm Zettel, in Colorado Springs to watch the Notre Dame- Air Force football game. It was great day, not just because Notre Dame won the game, although that had a lot to do with it, but mostly because it was Veteran's Day, we were at the Air Force Academy, it was a beautiful day, and our seats were literally 6th row, 48 yard-line. Best seats I have ever had at a ND game!

Before the game, we did some tailgating and were successful in tracking down longtime family friend Tom Goethals, who flew in for the game from Houston.

Also before the game, we toured some of the Air Force Academy campus. We walked through the campus chapel and on our way back to our rental car we came across an office chair in the middle of nowhere. I thought it was rather appropriate, considering while a student at Notre Dame, I often referred to the Air Force as the "Chair Force". In all honesty, I have great respect for the Air Force.

In conclusion, it was a great trip. Thank you Norm for the wonderful wedding gift (my favorite)!
